Introduction

The Saints squad headed to Pitsford Reservoir yesterday afternoon (4th August 2010) for some team challenges as part of their pre-season preparation.

Returning to the Northampton Watersports Centre, the Saints players were divided into teams of six, who then faced off in a series of challenges. Running, cycling and a boat race were all on the agenda, with Nick Johnston and his performance team keeping a close eye on proceedings!

Northampton Watersports Centre is based at Northampton Sailing Club alongside the picturesque Pitsford Reservoir and Brixworth Country Park, just 5 miles north of Northampton. Covering some 450 acres, this is the largest area of water in the county, providing the perfect place to learn watersports.

Open seven days a week from April to October, our enthusiastic, experienced team of RYA qualified Instructors provide a fun and safe environment for people from age 8 upwards to discover the thrill of watersports.

We run beginners, improvers and advanced RYA dinghy sailing and windsurfing courses throughout the year. We have a large fleet of modern boats and wide-style windsurf boards, making it even easier to learn to sail or windsurf. Click here for this year’s course programme.

We can also offer sailing or windsurfing taster sessions (an ideal birthday present), private tuition (1:1), corporate days, birthday parties and team building packages to suit your exact requirements, all at competitive prices. Please see the 'other activities' section or contact us for details.

We regularly work with local schools, colleges and other youth groups such as scouts and guides. We are able to put together a programme to teach young people a sport as well as incorporating other themes such as water safety, weather and teamwork. If your group have special needs or disabilities, this is no barrier for us; we can advise and work with you to enable everyone to have a good time on the water.

The Centre is recognised by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA).

Office opening hours are from 9.00am to 1.00pm, Monday to Friday. If there is no-one available to take your call, please leave a message or send an e-mail and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
